Authority given concerned citizens of New Jersey seeking justice regarding specific New Jersey Board of Education Student learning Standards – Performance Expectations is given by the United States Constitution 1st Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Authority given concerned citizens in New Jersey seek justice regarding specific New Jersey Board of Education Student learning Standards-Performance Expectations: New Jersey State Constitution: Article 1 Clause 18: The people have the right freely to assemble together, to consult for the common good, to make known their opinions to their representatives, and to petition for redress of grievances.

The Concerned Citizens of New Jersey petition for redress of grievances the New Jersey Department of Education Student Learning Standards-Performance Expectations.  The concerned citizens of New Jersey petition for redress these expectations derived from the current executive administration comprised of an appointed commissioner, appointed board members, all ideologically aligned with the current administration’s views on gender fluidity. The New Jersey Department of Education’s commissioner and board members who develop the Student Learning Standards-Performance Expectation exist apart from the Concerned Citizens of New Jersey’s capacity to hold The New Jersey Department of Education accountable to the will of the community of citizens through the democratic process of direct elections.

The Concerned Citizens of New Jersey not only have a vested interests in the learning standards and performance expectations opposed on public schools as parents, but also as taxpayers who challenge state legislators to abide by the State Constitution Article 8, § IV, ¶ 1. to “provide for the maintenance and support of a thorough and efficient system of free public schools for the instruction of all children in the State between the ages of five and eighteen years.” The legislatures responsibility in providing for the maintenance of public schools includes the preservation of Classical education consisting of a liberal arts education rooted in ancient history. “Liberal”, in this case, means “free”. Classical education prepares young people to live in freedom and independence, engaging them in the highest matters and the deepest questions of truth, justice, virtue, and beauty. A thorough and efficient system of free education would demand a diversity of theories, views, and opinions which would include traditional understandings of sex as historically understood from the laws of nature and natures God in opposition to the inflexible sex education curriculum being dictated by the current administration and the current New Jersey Board of Education.

The following standards potentially pose a destabilizing and damaging effect on students intellectual, psychological, biological, and spiritual composition. These standards also ignite the potential risk of alienating students from their parents who oppose the theory of sex as a social construct. The following standards severely conflict with the will of the community’s assent to the laws of nature and nature’s God.

Therefore, We, The Concerned Citizens of New Jersey ask for a petition for redress of grievances to have these performance expectations struck from the Student Learning-Performance Expectations.

  • 2.1.5.SSH.2: Differentiate between sexual orientation and gender identity.
  • 2.1.8.SSH.1: Differentiate between gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation.

Hereby, We, The Concerned Citizens of New Jersey ask for this petition of redress of grievances to be presented and addressed by the State Senate and the State Assembly.
